Red Planet Pictures, part of Asacha Media Group, is thrilled to announce its collaboration with Imaginary Friends Productions to adapt Death at the White Hart, the debut novel by Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall, into a gripping new crime drama for ITV.
The series, commissioned for a straight-to-series order by ITV1 and STV, is set in the fictional Dorset village of Fleetcombe. It follows Detective Nicola Bridge as she unravels a complex murder mystery after the death of a local pub landlord. With Chibnall himself adapting the novel for television, the show is set to deliver his signature blend of suspense, richly drawn characters, and deeply immersive storytelling.
Belinda Campbell, Executive Producer at Red Planet Pictures, expressed her excitement:
“Death at the White Hart is a finely crafted and epically executed story with unforgettable characters and unexpected twists that lend themselves perfectly to television. We are delighted that Chris has chosen to work with us to bring this brilliant book to the screen.”
The adaptation marks an exciting new chapter in Chibnall’s celebrated career, following the success of Broadchurch and his tenure as Doctor Who showrunner. His expertise in crafting compelling crime narratives makes Death at the White Hart one of the most anticipated upcoming dramas.
With production set to begin next year and Fremantle handling international distribution, Death at the White Hart is poised to be a must-watch addition to ITV’s crime drama lineup.
Stay tuned for more updates as the project develops.
